Mini Zoo

The Mini Zoo at Hlawga National Park features a massive ivory-shaped entrance gateway, spacious wildlife enclosures, an imposing life-sized dinosaur statue, and an educational taxidermy gallery.

Detailed Information

Hlawga National Park is structured into two primary visitor zones: the expansive open Wildlife Safari Park and the dedicated 62-acre Mini Zoo. The journey begins through a grand entrance marked by an iconic ivory-shaped archway that welcomes guests into the shaded pedestrian walking circuits.

Positioned near the main pathway stands an imposing life-sized dinosaur statue alongside the taxidermy exhibition hall. Inside the gallery, visitors can view meticulously preserved specimens of indigenous wildlife and learn about regional fauna through curated educational displays.

Along the winding paths, the Mini Zoo provides naturalistic outdoor enclosures housing a diverse collection of animals. Visitors can observe Bengal tigers, Asiatic black bears, saltwater crocodiles, tortoises, primates, barking deer, and numerous species of native birds up close.

Visitor Tips

  • Visit in the morning for cooler weather and active wildlife sightings
  • Follow all park safety signs and park rangers' instructions
  • Do not feed free-roaming wildlife without staff authorization
